Meet a Pony Morning

3. Dyffryn Gardens, Dyffryn
Spotter Trail
This Half Term little ones can put their detective skills to the test as they follow the clues to each location and write down the letters they find to spell an important Dyffryn name. There’s a small prize at the end.
There is an onsite cafe and a small childrens play area.

Half Term Interactive Sessions
The Penny Farthing experience – 19th and 20th February
An interactive event for adults and children this half term. Everyone can learn more about the Penny Farthing and even have a go! This is running on the 19th and 20th of February.
Science Made Simple Show – 23rd February
The science show will inform you of the differences between cartoon science and real science. They will look at Friction, materials, gravity, the laws of motion and more. The show features original animated clips, audience interaction and lot of demonstrations of ‘real-world’ science. Show times: 11.00am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm

5. St Donats Art Centre, St Donats
A Picnic with Paddington Bear – February 22nd
Take your teddies and head to St Donats for a morning showing of Paddington followed by an indoor teddy bears picnic. You will need to take your own blankets and cushions.

Birds of Prey Flying Demonstration – February 23rd
An afternoon where you can watch eagles and falcons in action. There will also be owls on show too.

Bird Box Making
February 21st – Bryngarw Country Park are running 10 minute sessions to build your own bird box for your garden. The sessions cost £6.00 per person. 3. Parc Slip Nature Reserve, Aberkenfig
Make a Nest Box – 20th February
Celebrate National Nest Box week by making a nest box for your garden. Nest Box week aims to provide breeding birds with nesting sites, by encouraging people to put up nest boxes in their garden.
Price: £7 per box. Age Group: Minimum age for this event is 10 years old. Children aged 10-16 years must be supervised by an accompanying adult.
Session Times: 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1pm to 3pm. Meeting Place: Parc Slip Wildlife Trust Visitor Centre Booking: Booking is not essential for this event but materials may be limited.

Wildlife Watch – 22nd February
Join the UK’s leading club for young environmentalists, as you explore Parc Slip to find out about the amazing wildlife. There are activities such wildlife walks to explore the reserve, bird watching and bug hunting.
Age group: 5 to 13 years. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to meetings.
Clothing requirements: Please bring wellies, warm clothes and waterproofs as we always venture outside, regardless of the weather!

Interactive Animal Shows
Plantastia are hosting their interactive animal shows where kiddies can learn about the importance of looking after and protecting the rainforests. They will also come face to face with snakes, insects and a bird eating tarantula.

Pirate Week

4. Penllergare Valley Woods, Swansea
Survival Skills For Kids – 25th February
A day of Survival Skills for kids with a fully day of bushcraft adventures in the woods, inspired by Bear Grylls’ recent kids TV show. Kids will have to choose which few precious items to take into the woods, discover which plants and trees could help them survive and learn to use sharp tools to craft useful items.
There will also be a bushtucker challenge (optional for kids) where they can taste all sorts of snacks including edible insects! They will be cooking some snacks on the campfire as part of the activities. You can read about our visits to Penllergare Valley Woods here.

Wacky World Dino Experience – 20th and 21st February
The largest inflatable play arena will be coming to the LC to take everyone back in time to Jurassic age!
Little ones will get 2 hours to run around the arena, exploring the obstacle course and other activities!
