What’s On Easter 2018 for Families
So I have scoured the internet and what’s on guides to find out what’s on this Easter for families so you don’t have to. The list covers the Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend, Swansea and surrounding areas. It’s nice to see that there are plenty of free events in the list too.

Dyffryn Gardens, Dyffryn

Hunt high and low all over Dyffryn Gardens to find the clues that will lead the kiddies to their chocolate prize. Tickets are £3.00 and normal admission prices also apply.

Children will be encouraged to develop their Teamwork skills, Communication and personal Confidence through activities such as Climbing, High Ropes, and Orienteering as well as more conventional team and individual sports such as badminton, basketball and indoor hockey using Atlantic Colleges newly completed sports hall. An interactive event for adults and children. Everyone can learn more about the Penny Farthing and even have a go!

Help out at the farm with a hands on experience bottle feeding the baby lambs. This event is £5 per person*, suitable for all ages above 3 years old. Find hundreds of chocolate eggs hidden around Bryngarw Country Park! Start your session with a craft activity in the visitor centre before you hunt for the Easter eggs with the fabulous street theatre performers from LaLaLa Productions. Accompanying adults and babes in arms are free of charge.

A free street event for all the family at Carnegie House in Bridgend. Join the Mad Hatter’s Easter Tea Party at Carnegie House in Bridgend. Lots of activities for all ages – circus skills, mad hat making and decorating (bring an old hat), decorative brooches and bunting, storytelling and music.

Free meet and greet two large dinosaurs plus three smaller ones. Lots of dinosaur activities planned throughout the day. Meet ranger Chris and take part in the dino hunt. There will also be kiddies rides, refreshments and stalls.

Free admission, free animal petting, free donkey rides and an opportunity to meet some of the little ones favourite characters. There will also be party games, kiddies rides and refreshments.

6th, 9th and 13th April 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Unicorn Day
The chance to turn one of the ponies into a Unicorn complete with a magic horn decorated by your child. Kiddies will also learn about how to look after their unicorns from grooming to feeding. As a keepsake from the day each child will be given a real horseshoe to turn into a unicorn shoe with sparkles, ribbon and jewels. Once the pony is decorated, each child will have the opportunity to ride their unicorn. Price is £60 per child, suitable from ages 4 – 15. Pre-booking essential.

8th April, 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. – Black Bart Pirate Show
A free event where you can find out about Welsh pirate Black Bart. Born and raised in a small village in Pembrokeshire, Bartholomew Roberts didn’t choose to be a pirate yet became a fearless leader who terrorised the Caribbean, plundering over 400 ships and stealing gold galore.
9th – 15th April 12:30 p.m, 1:30 p.m and 2:30 p.m. – K’nex Robots
A Free event but booking required. Celebrating the exciting arrival of the Man Engine in Swansea, come along to design and construct a robot using our huge collection of K’nex.

A free event. A chance to see the amazing spectacle that is Man Engine, a moving, steaming mechanical puppet – the largest ever constructed in Britain.
Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea
29th March – 4th April, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Here in this Sprin, self led activities. The family friendly learning space will be open for free play. Activities include spring themed creative writing, making comics, puppets, gams, crafts and dressing up. A free, drop in event.
Margam Park, Port Talbot

Medieval Knights and Archers – A weekend of archery, combat and sword demonstrations. The Knights and Squires in the Lions and Lilies have been trained by a renowned sword master, great medieval fun!

Friday 13th April, 1:30 p.m. – Easter Bunny’s Eggs Factor
A show about the Easter Bunny’s singing competition! Who will Fluffy decide has got The Eggs Factor? Marty MacDonald, Henrietta the Hen and Professor Pinky are all going to enter, but can’t choose which song to sing. Little ones can join in the fun, with songs and laughter down at the Chocolate Factory – then meet the Easter Bunny afterwards and receive a special Easter treat! This is a Family show particularly suitable for 2 – 7 year olds. Tickets are £6.99

The Easter Bunny is sad! He has lost his password for the Big Heart of Swansea App and he needs your help to find it! Meet at The Grand Theatre from 11am to get your first clue and hand in your Easter Egg designs. Solve the clues and discover the 7 GOLDEN EGGS hidden around Swansea City Centre to discover the Easter Bunny’s missing passwordEach child will receive a prize at the end of the hunt with 5 lucky winners receiving a Marvellous Magnificent BIG HEART Easter Egg courtesy of Thorntons. The Easter bunny will be there and there will be a Brass Band too.
